 According to the Handbook of Energy and Economic Statistics, it is statistically recognized that environmental protection and energy conservation awareness is accompanied by action in the industrial and freight industries.

 However, in the passenger, household, and business sectors, there is a gap between energy conservation awareness and action, which leads to increased energy consumption. The increase in energy consumption in the passenger industry is probably due to the spread and use of automobiles. At the individual level, it is probably due to the spread of electronic products and lack of awareness. The cause of the increase in energy consumption in the business sector is probably the expansion of energy consumption by communication and information equipment.

 What these three fields have in common is "convenience," and the current situation where we have become accustomed to and paralyzed by excessive "convenience" and excessive functions added only by the logic of manufacturers is the cause of the continued increase in energy consumption. It is time to think about what convenience and functions are really necessary at the individual level, and restructure to get rid of excessive convenience and functions.

 Let's become consumers who can say "no" to unnecessary, excessive, and unused functions. Nowadays, thanks to the Internet, good and constructive opinions, even personal ones, can gain a great deal of sympathy and support.

 While it is important for opinion leaders to speak out to raise environmental awareness, it is the actions of individuals that determine the outcome on a global level.

 Is it really that difficult to devise and implement a plan to reduce driving by 10%? Is it impossible to manage the electrical outlets of electrical appliances at home? To what extent is it necessary to manage air conditioning and heating in the office and to connect information and communication devices 24 hours a day?

 These are all issues of individual awareness and action, but when you are in an organization or surrounded by a lot of electrical appliances, your awareness of saving it will probably fade.
