How to acquire English skills even if you don’t want to. 　Chapter 4 Work and English (2) 4.2 Necessity of English

　For me, English is a tool for work, for broadening my horizons, for networking, and for earning rewards and so on. They are necessary too much of course. Here are some of the reasons for this, based on my own experiences.

1) Tools for work

* I can introduce my own power-saving technologies and products to the global market as I see fit.

* My overseas technical guidance (dyeing and finishing) was sufficient in English even in China.

* English is the first language for troubleshooting with foreign workers in Japan.

* We should quickly obtain and understand information through English at the workplace.

2) Tools for building global contacts

* English is very useful for global and you can make many acquaintances and friends with English.

* In Southeast Asia and Africa, English is used as if it were the native language, which is very beneficial for business.

* The global contacts you have made will disappear if you leave them to others.

You have to keep contacting them directly by ourselves.

3) Means of getting paid

* In Japan, English is a big market commodity (English conversation schools, compulsory education, etc.).

* The status of English as an international language should be secure for some time to come.

* There is a large demand for translation and interpretation, but it needs to be combined with expertise to get more jobs.

　So, mastering just two languages, Japanese and English will make the field of vision several times as much. These are again described later.
