Most electrical products usually perform their functions after purchase by being plugged into electrical outlets and consume electricity. In other words. There is no electrical product that saves electricity and earns money every day.

However, Setsuden-mushi converts the connected device into a power-saving mode and starts saving electricity from the moment you plug it in and start using it, becoming a "device that earns money".

Normally, when you do not require the desired functions of the home appliances, the power switch of the main unit of the device is turned off. If there is no power consumption when the power switch is turned off, there is no standby electricity consumption problem. However, if there is power consumption when the power switch is turned off, then there is a standby electricity consumption problem.

Then, do all home appliances have a standby electricity consumption problem? Although manufacturers are making efforts to reduce the standby electricity consumption of home appliances, the results of a survey on standby electricity consumption of home appliances announced by the Energy Conservation Center on August 2, 2000 shows the standby power consumption of 42% of the electric appliances can be saved by unplugging the plug when not in use. This means that 42% of home appliances can reduce their standby electricity consumption to zero. Regarding the remaining 58% of electric appliances, unplugging the power supply impairs the original function of the appliance though they should be possible to reduce the amount of standby electricity consumption to the absolute minimum.

In the case of fax machines, if you unplug the power supply when the fax machine is not in use, no matter how much you want to save on standby electricity consumption, you will not be able to receive the fax messages, which will cause great inconvenience to the person sending it to you.

However, if you connect Setsuden-mushi to your fax machine, you can keep the fax machine (attached telephone) in the state of being unplugged because Setsuden-mushi will automatically turn on the fax machine (attached telephone) only when there is a phone call or fax. Five minutes after a call or fax is finished, the fax automatically returns to the unplugged state to ensure power savings. The money saved by saving power is the same as the money earned.
