徒然なるままに (8) 創造性、創造力の醸成 ／ Writings with idle ramblings (8) Fostering creativity and creative ability

主宰している英検1級(&同等)資格者ネットワーク（全国組織、会員130名強、2023年3月現在）の最近のオンライン月例会で、現在の「詰め込み教育」が話題になりました。

この席上では小中高生をお持ちのメンバーの皆さんの現状、考え方、希望、対処方法などと、大学レベルでの生徒受け入れ態勢の現状などをお互いに共有しました。

私自身は社会のための教育、研究、開発、技術、サービス、生産活動、他のためには創造性を育む教育が必要だと思っています。そして、更にそれらを成功発展させるための継続的推進力が必要ですが、硬直化した一斉詰め込み教育だけでは対処できないと、自らの経験（節電技術の開発、他）から判断しています。

子供たちの脳、身体、精神の発達はそれぞれ異なり、全員が同じ方向軸、同じ時間軸で行動しなくても努力する姿勢があれば、各自の能力を発揮できる場所と時かやってきます。その時に創造性が発揮できればいいのです。

　創造性、創造力は無理して他の人とは異なる意見、アイデア、思考を持ったり、身につけたりすることではなく、それぞれが人生の色々な段階で経験することをできるだけ有機的に効果的に混合すれば自然と得られるもの、だと私は思っています。

　私たちが遭遇する問題点、不思議を直視して、それを解決する、追及する姿勢を持続する力、持続のための努力をすれば、創造性、創造力は誰にでも身に着くと私は考えています。

 At a recent online monthly meeting of the English Proficiency Test Level 1 (& Equivalent) Qualifier Network (a national organization, nearly 130 members, as of March 2023), which I preside over, the current "cramming" education was discussed.

Members who have elementary, middle, and high school students shared with each other their current situations, thoughts, hopes, and coping strategies, as well as the current state of student acceptance at the university level.

I myself believe that education for society, research, development, technology, service, production activities, and others require education that fosters creativity. I also believe that continuous impetus is necessary for the successful development of these activities, but I have judged from my own experience (electricity saving technology development, etc.) that this cannot be addressed by rigid, one-size-fits-all cramming education alone.

Each child's brain, body, and spirit develop differently, and as long as they are willing to work hard, even if they are not all working in the same direction or on the same timeline, there will come a place and a time when they will be able to demonstrate their abilities. It is only a matter of time when they are able to show their creativity.

I believe that creativity and creative power do not come from forcing oneself to have or acquire opinions, ideas, or thoughts that are different from those of others, but come naturally from mixing as organically and effectively as possible what each of us experiences at various stages of life.

　I believe that creativity and creative power can be acquired by anyone who has the ability to face the problems and wonders we encounter, and the ability to solve them, or to sustain the pursuit of them, if we make the effort to sustain them.
