前話: Chapter 3 Ingenuity from Moderate Inferiority and Poverty 3.1 inferiority, Mother of improvement (2)
次話: Chapter 3 Ingenuity from Moderate Inferiority and Poverty 3.1.1.1 Autonomy and self-reliance (1)

Our whole body consists of the five parts of a head, a neck, a chest, both hands and both feet. I was born perfectly healthy no physical defect, so I have to work using my healthy body very effectively.

People who have no health problems take their good health for granted and often do not appreciate it. It is the case with me, too. I don't really think seriously what will happen if my hand(s), my eye(s) and others are handicapped. On TV, we sometimes see people with disabilities doing incredibly advanced researches. We see people self-supporting after overcoming their handicap, when I am forced to realize my own wishful thinking and my paralyzed feeling that I am not grateful for my health. I think we must be thankful for our good health before our body loses any functionality.

It is not until we have a toothache, we have a stomachache or you have a broken leg that you can understand their existence and how precious they are. I was 57 years old last year (as of 2004) and noticed hematuria while on a business trip to Sichuan, China. Prostate cancer was suspected and I was hospitalized, spending about 30 days at the hospital for the medical examination and surgery with the aim of treating suspicious illnesses before my 58th birthday on March 1, 2005. Thanks to the medical checkups, my suspicion of cancer disappeared and I had been treated for some other problems, being back in good health up to now.

Learning from this experience, I sternly try not to use my healthy body for the acts annoying to society.
