Followings are the remaining three points to be noted when individuals start new businesses following the previous ones.
4. Don't spend money on advertising: As I mentioned earlier, SMEs have no free money. To make matters worse, the success rate of new businesses is very low. Spending very important money on PR of such a new business is like a suicide act and poses a huge risk. If you are ready to start a business, it is also important to start contacting the medias during the preparation period and build connections there. The mass medias are not only for reading, listening and seeing, but also for being introduced and reported. In a small business you have to do everything yourself. If you find it painful, you shouldn't start a business. Rather, you will need an attitude and leeway to enjoy those extensive jobs.
5. Utilize the network: There are many you can consult about your business for free at the municipal, prefectural, and national levels, so you should make the most of them. You cannot spend much money on business preparation or advertising, so it is very important for you to build human networks. It is also important that you actively participate in cross-industry exchanges and SNS, and build good relationships with cross-industry exchange and SNS groups that suit you before starting a new business. Don't count on the original company you retired from. Don't talk to the company network you had there. It may have a temporary effect but do not last long. Organizational relationships only work within an organization. You should think about the feelings of the person you count on even after retirement.
6. Niche and Social Products and Services: Newly started job keywords and content may be the followings: Timely, price-competitive and/or original qualifications and products. These are what consultants and critics who have never actually done business interfere with as if they were experts. You need to be careful not to be taken in by their fast-talk. More important than that is to create a system that you can earn daily money for several years as soon as possible. After careful preparation, you have to have the guts to work with social content. If the job is still in the red three years after it starts and if you can't make it, you need to stop it.
Immediately after my retirement, in September 1976, I went to an American university to study there for a short period of time for my self-improvement and ability confirmation. Then, in April 1977, I opened an English cram school for junior and high school students. The wording may not be appropriate, but while earning daily money, my first independent job went into the black three years later in 1980 thanks to the second baby boom. At this time, I had already started working as a technical translator and interpreter for companies. Then, four years later in 1984, I built my own building, which is also for rental, and paid off the borrowing in 10 years. Eighteen years after I left the company and started self-employed in 1995, when the negative effects of the bursting of the bubble economy began to become noticeable, I established a debt-free management and that has continued up to today.
