How to acquire English skills even if you don’t want to. Chapter 3 Work and English (1) -The fruits of the English language are available to all. -
From now on, I will focus on how I have used English in my work and how my English skills have been useful in my work and life.
For some reasons, I entered the workforce immediately after graduating from a technical high school in 1965. I was hired as one of to-be mid-level executive candidates at the head office of TOYOBO (http://www.toyobo.co.jp/), and for the first two years after joining the company, I was transferred from one factory to another, from the head office to the research institute, for a period of several months to six months, in order to study the business. (At that time, they had two types of employment: head office employment and factory employment, with different salaries and promotion systems.)
Two years after I joined the company, I settled down at the Technology Research Institute in Takatsuki City, Osaka Prefecture, where I was able to work and prepare for the company's study program at the domestic university, which was my first goal when I joined the company. This two-year long period after I joined the company coincided with the time when I memorized almost all the English grammar book as I mentioned earlier.
