In my case, disseminating my work and its results was the result of one of the ingenuities to overcome the inadequate fund.

I developed Setsuden-mushi (a profit-making device) in 1994 as a power saving technology and device. But the business could not reach the level of sales by simply informing only acquaintances and/or friends of this technology and device. Then I thoroughly thought about how to make my ideas on energy conservation and the Setsuden-mushi that embodies my ideas widely known to a wide range of people. As a result, I thought it would be effective for me to send the information to the mass medias and to post it on the Internet as well, so I took it into action immediately.

I looked up the addresses of newspaper, radio and television companies in the phone book, distributing the KEC (name of my company) news I made with a word processor to the media companies several times a year. I also distributed the same KEC News to those whom I had exchanged business cards with. I announced my thoughts on power saving and energy saving by sending them to the related email links. As a result, I could get interviewed by NHK's Science and Culture Department in Tokyo, the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun and some local economic magazines. One interviewed news produced other news one after another.

In addition to such coverages, I myself produced and broadcast the programs (shows) on local radio and television stations, providing Setsuden-mushi (a profit-making device) as a gift for the listeners and/or viewers of those programs. I am still disseminating the information to raise awareness as much as possible.

SMEs do not have enough money to pay CM fees and to publicize their products and/or services. It's also unclear if the products or services are worth being advertised in a commercial. To avoid the risk of losing or wasting much money for advertising, it is safer and more effective to have the news featured in the mass media even if it takes long time.
