タカコとケンジの物語

“Buraku?  I read about it in history book.”

 He started to read some books written about Buraku.

 

　すると、信じられないことに現代日本でも部落差別や在日朝鮮人の差別が厳然として残っていることを知った。

「バカバカしい」

　　と思ったが、親孝行の健二は無視もできないと考えた。

 

“This is ridiculous!”

  That’s what Kenji felt when he read some books written about Buraku people.

　However he was a good sonand didn’t want to ignore what his mother said.

 

　　二人の気持ちさえしっかりしていれば、問題はないと考えていた。ちょうど、その時に四日市高校の同窓会のハガキが舞い込んだので、健二は同級生にこの問題を相談しようと思った。

　　同窓会の当日は、したたかに酔ったので近くの同級生の家に泊めてもらって翌日帰宅した。すると、母親が泣いていた。

「彼女との交際を反対したから列車にでも飛び込んだのじゃないかと・・・」

　と言った。

 

  Kenji believed the relationship with Takako wasfirm enough to overcome this problem.  Atthat time, Kenji got a postcard which said they would have a school reunion.  Kenji thought he might be able to talk about his problem with his old friends.

 On the day, they drank and Kenji stayed at his his old friend’shouse.  The next day when he came home,his mother was crying saying

“Since we opposed to youridea to have a girlfriend who might be Buraku, we thought you had committed suicide.”

 

　　健二は、自分がこんなに心配をかけていると驚くとともに、両親を心配させたことを後悔した。

 

 Kenji was surprised and regretted what he did.

 

 

「名古屋大学ラブ・ストーリー（５）　卒業と別離」

　　とりあえず、貴子と自分の関係だけはしっかりしておかないといけないと思い、健二はある日デートに誘った。もう卒業も間もない頃のことだった。卒業後のことも尋ねたかった。

 

　　Kenji believed theyshould built up the stronger relationship between them.  So he had a date with Tkakako beforegraduation.  He wanted to ask what shewould do after leaving school.

 

　　貴子は卒業後は、実家の四日市で就職をする予定らしかった。健二の実家は桑名だったから、これでお終いなのか考える必要があった。その頃は、

「これだけ交際を続けているのだから、当然むこうの男とは縁が切れているのだろう」

　と、健二は考えていた。

 

  Takako said that she would go back to herparents’ house in Yokkaichi.  Kenji’s parents house was in Kuwana.  They had totalk about their future. 

 Kenji thought

“Takako　must have finished the relationship with her old boyfriend.”

 

　　それで、健二は貴子のアパートに向かってハッキリ尋ねようと思った。冷たい雨の降る冬の夜だった。来客がいるようだったのに、窓の見える場所から眺めていた。すると、貴子が誰か知らない男とアパートから出てきた。たぶん、あれが例の男だ。

 

　　Kenji was going to Takako’sapartment house.  He decided to ask hisquestion.  He needed a clear answer.  It was a cold winter night.  However it seemed someone was in her apartment house.  Before knocking thedoor, Kenji heard someone’s voice.  So hewas watching the window of Takako’s room. 

 Then a man was coming out with her. He must be the man.

 

「二股か」

 

“Well, then good! Two menat the same time.

 

　一緒にアイスを買ってはしゃいでいた東山動物園での初デート。長島温泉の海水プールで遊んでいた夏。すべてウソだったのだ。

 

“We lick ice cream inHigashiyama park when we had the first date.  We swam in Nagashima together.  All lies.”

 

「オイ！あっちでも、こっちでもこんなことやっているのか！」

“You had an affair withhim just as you did with me.  I cannot believe it.”

 

　　健二は次のデートのときに詰問してしまった。もう終わりだった。彼女は全てを話して楽になったかもしれないけれど、健二は彼女を愛していただけに許せない気持ちで自分の中に相手の男に対する殺意をはっきり意識した。

 

 Everything was over.  She was stupid enough to tell him everything. Kenji lost himself in an anger and had a clear design against the man.

 

「中古車より新車の方がいいし！」
