By the way, there are TVs, microwave ovens, washing machines, and other products whose standby electricity consumption we can save by unplugging them when not in use. What happens to the telephones with fax machines, ranked fourth in the order of highest standby power consumption, if they are unplugged? They can be classified into the following two types.

1. The device can be used as a telephone, but cannot be used as a fax machine.

2. The device can be used neither as a telephone nor as a fax machine.

In either case, if telephones with fax machines are unplugged from the power supply, their fax function will be "lost". You are in trouble!

Somehow, isn’t there any good way to use a telephone with a fax machine while keeping the power unplugged?

There is a way: It is to connect Setsuden-mushi to therm. This solves all problems.

Setsuden-mushi itself can stand-by with no power consumption while the telephones with fax machines are unplugged, and it automatically turns them on only when there is a call or fax, and automatically and reliably saves power by returning them to the unplugged state five minutes after a call or reception is complete.

The amount of electricity consumed by fax machines and copy machines during standby time that can be saved by this Setsuden-mushi connection method is 60 million kWh per year in Japan as a whole (homes, factories, and offices).
