How to acquire English skills even if you don’t want to. Chapter 5 Work and English (3) 5.3 Networking, one-of-a-kind, promoting own business abroad
As we visit many countries, invite foreign companies to Japan, strengthen relationships with them in English, and coordinate with domestic companies, we naturally develop relationships with many people, personal connections, and human networks.
In the 2000's, the human network built in this way became useful in introducing business in Shanghai, China, and in introducing domestic business to African ambassadors to Japan. We are now able to do these all in English, via email and Skype, while maintaining and developing our relationship with them. The English language, which dominates the world as the language of the Internet, and the skills to use it, have contributed greatly to the success of these projects.
If you combine your background, experience, and skills with your English skills, you will be the only one who can use the connections you have built to appeal to others, and it is not difficult to expand your global business.
When you have relationships with many people in many countries, you will have the opportunity not only to support business for others, but also to introduce and sell your own technologies and products directly to them. You can kill two birds with one stone.
Of course, PR is even more effective today when you use your own company's website or the global social networking sites such as Facebook, YouTube and so on. The use of the Internet is a part of the sales process.
While these online activities require a certain amount of time, energy, and effort, it is not difficult to reach out to the world if you have good English language skills. The fruits of English skills are not small in number.
